The right partnerships with the right people are the ingredients for making a positive and meaningful impact. These collaborations are essential now more than ever. While both of our organizations have undergone shifts and changes over the years, the UW Milwaukee School of Nursing has remained committed to this community for decades โ that's commitment. Thank you for helping us do what we do.
"...interactions were only 5 to 12 minutes long, but they demonstrate the essential human connections made with our UWM/SSNC partnership. Residents and guests come here for a basic need, food from the food pantry, and are greeted by a nursing student advocating all the free services available to them at the SSNC. Most decline the free blood pressure, blood sugar checks, and Narcan education and supplies offered at the nursing center; however, those who do utilize the nursing wellness center have meaningful screening and wellness education that often dramatically impacts their life in a very positive direction."

September is National Literacy Month! ๐Thanks to Bernie's Book Bank, our students were able to celebrate with local author Allison Hoppe, who joined us for a special storytime and read from her series, The Adventures of BLT. The students were thrilled to each receive their very own copies of the books to take home!
Having access to stories both at school and at home is such an important part of early literacy and growing a love of reading, and weโre so grateful to add these titles to our classroom libraries, too. ๐โจ Judging by all the chatter on the way out the door, these books are already a hit!
